At 8 you are still well inside most heel ranges. The high street shops that stop early, such as Office, New Look, River Island, Marks and Spencer, Clarks and Hotter, still go one size further, to 9, so the choice at 8 is wide: block, kitten, slingback, strappy and platform heels from many brands. The real differences are in width and half sizes, and in how each shop converts a UK 8 into EU sizes.

We checked each shop’s own website on 30 October 2026: heels listings filtered to 8 where a filter link exists, the filter values and listing data in the pages, size guides, and delivery and returns pages. At Simply Be and Kurt Geiger we read the size 8 filter option but did not open the filtered page. Heel heights at size 8

Very was the only shop we found whose filter gave heel heights in inches at 8: “up to 2.5 inch”, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5 inch, and “6 inch and above”. Simply Be’s heels filter uses Low, Medium and High, and Office’s uses Low, Mid and High. At larger sizes these filters show fewer heights, as our size 10 heels guide explains.

How to measure your feet for size 8 heels

Long Tall Sally, Yours Clothing and Marks and Spencer give 262 mm as the foot length for a women’s UK 8, and Clarks gives 263 mm. For Kurt Geiger and Crispins we recorded size labels only.

1. Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, in the tights or pop socks you wear with heels.
2. Mark the tip of your longest toe, keeping the pen upright.
3. Measure from the wall to the mark in millimetres, on both feet, and use the longer one.
4. Compare it with the chart of the shop you are buying from. Long Tall Sally’s and Yours Clothing’s charts put a UK 8 at 262 mm and a UK 9 at 271 mm.

Width fittings at size 8

Yours Clothing and Evans list 8E (Wide) and 8EEE (Extra Wide) as their own sizes; Yours’ chart gives a joint girth of 252 mm for E and 264 mm for EEE at UK 8. Marks and Spencer’s chart gives 256 mm for standard (D) and 265 mm for wide (E). Long Tall Sally gives one joint figure, 246 mm, without naming the fitting, and its own heels are Standard Fit; its wide heels at 8 are Yours-brand. Next lists heeled shoes at 8 in Standard, Wide and Extra Wide, and ASOS has UK 8 Wide and a few UK 8 Extra Wide styles.
