Fifteen is the last size with a real choice of formal shoes. It is the largest size at Jacamo, JD Williams, Barker, Base London and ECCO, and Samuel Windsor has already stopped at 14. Walktall still lists a wide spread of brands at 15, including Sioux’s H-fit lace-ups and a Cheaney, but from 16 the choice is mostly Walktall’s own range and Poyter’s made-to-order shoes.

We checked on 30 October 2026, using each shop’s own website: formal and smart listings filtered to 15, the shops’ product data where available, size guides, and delivery and returns pages. Walktall’s formal category was read directly; its returns terms are as shown in search results. We saw Sioux and Cheaney shoes at Walktall only, not on their own shops. We did not check prices. We did not check Amazon UK’s listings.

• DB Wider Fit Shoes: its Formal Shoes category lists 15, but the shoes in it were casual leather shoes only when we checked.
• Walktall: its size 15 formal results also include Ecco casual shoes and Jomos sneakers, so check each product.
• Shops that stop earlier: Samuel Windsor at 14, and Next, Loake and Clarks at 13.

How to measure your feet for size 15 formal shoes

Jacamo’s and JD Williams’ charts give 323 mm for a UK 15, and both end at that size. Poyter’s chart gives 311.6 mm, but it runs about one size behind most UK charts. That is more than a centimetre between charts for the same size, so use the chart of the shop you buy from.

1. Lay a sheet of paper on a hard floor against a wall and stand on it with your heel touching the wall.
2. Ask someone to mark just past your longest toe, keeping the pen straight up.
3. Measure from the wall to the mark in millimetres for both feet; the longer foot decides your size.
4. Measure round the ball of the foot as well if you are deciding between wide and extra wide.

Width fittings at size 15

Walktall’s formal shoes at 15 came in F, G and H; Sioux’s Dilip and Foriolo are H, which Walktall’s product data calls Wide Fit. Jacamo’s smart shoes at 15 were wide and extra wide. JD Williams’ guide gives a foot girth of 291-296 mm for standard, 297-302 mm for wide and 303-308 mm for extra wide at 15; Jacamo’s guide gives the same standard and wide figures, but its extra wide figure is misprinted. Poyter’s chart gives a ball girth of 281.5 mm for standard (D) and 290.5 mm for wide (EE). Base London has no width options, and we did not check which of Barker’s fittings were available at 15.

A UK 15 is US 16 on every chart here except ECCO, which gives 16-16.5 for its EU 50, but the EU size runs from 49 to 51. Foot length is the safer guide.

What EU size is a UK 15 formal shoe?

It depends on the chart: EU 49 at Barker and Poyter, EU 50 at Walktall and EU 51 at Jacamo and JD Williams. ECCO labels its EU 50 as UK 14.5-15. All of them except ECCO make a UK 15 a US 16; ECCO gives 16-16.5.
