When we checked, Walktall’s Workwear / Wellingtons category had only the V12 Avenger IGS safety boot and the Grafters Contractor safety shoe in 16. As shown in search results, Screwfix has size 16 pages for the Amblers FS32 and the Apache Edmonton and Hamilton, and Sports Direct lists the Dunlop Kansas and Dakota in 16. At 16, most safety boot ranges have ended. Toolstation stops at 15, and Amblers Safety’s own range stops at 15 apart from one separate size 16 listing of its FS32 boot, which its product page showed as sold out when we checked. Walktall’s workwear page title says it goes up to size 19, but its safety footwear stops at 16, with very few pairs at that size. What is left is a small number of boots at Walktall, Screwfix and Sports Direct, plus the 16s in the Rock Fall and V12 brand ranges, which you have to find at a shop.

Walktall’s Workwear / Wellingtons listing at 16 and its store data were read directly; its returns terms come from its own pages as shown in search results. V12 Footwear’s own blog, in an undated post, says it makes XL versions of the Boulder, Bison IGS, Avenger IGS and Caiman IGS up to size 16. Look for these models at a shop: of the shops we checked, only Walktall listed one in 16, the Avenger IGS. Screwfix had a V12 Caiman page in 15, but it was out of stock.

Shops that stop at 15

Toolstation’s safety boot filter stops at 15, and its size 16 page returned an error. Amblers Safety lists only a few styles in 15 and, apart from the one FS32 listing, nothing in 16. How to measure your feet for size 16 safety boots

Rock Fall’s size chart is an image we could not read and Amblers Safety’s size guide link returned an error, so we have no safety boot foot length for a 16. Our size 16 shoes guide has the measurements shoe shops give for a 16.

1. Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, in the socks you wear with work boots.
2. Mark the tip of your longest toe, keeping the pen upright.
3. Measure from the wall to the mark in millimetres, on both feet, and use the longer one.
4. Ask the shop before you order if you are unsure, as stock at 16 was thin when we checked.

Both of Walktall’s size 16 styles are standard (F) fit. We did not find a wide-fit safety boot in 16, and we could not check widths at Screwfix or Sports Direct at this size.
