Quick answer: at UK 10 the only choices we found are unisex. Cotswold Outdoor’s women’s walking boots page shows the Ayacucho Unisex Cabrera Mid and Ayacucho Unisex Ordesa Mid, and we found no women’s-labelled walking boot at 10 at any shop.

Women’s walking boots run out at 9. One shop has anything to offer at 10, and those boots are unisex, shown under its women’s page. Filters at other shops suggest otherwise, but when we opened them we found men’s boots, or nothing. So the honest answer is short: the Ayacucho boots are where to start. The rest of this page shows what we looked at to reach that answer, because a filter that says 10 is not the same as a women’s boot you can buy.

Cotswold Outdoor is the only shop we found with a walking boot on its women’s page at 10, and both boots are unisex. We did not record a width for them. Returns are the standard UK terms as shown in search results.

Who stops at 9

Almost every women’s range we read ends one size short of this page:

• Meindl: the Bhutan Lady MFS, Tonale Lady GTX and Meran Lady GTX are ladies models that stop at 9, as shown in search results.
• Scarpa: no women’s model goes above EU 43, which it gives as UK 9. The Terra GTX Woman and Cyrus 2 Mid GTX Woman top out there, and only its men’s models go higher.
• Merrell: the size guide for its Moab 3 Mid GORE-TEX Women’s stops at UK 9, as shown in search results.
• DB Wider Fit Shoes: 9 is the largest size in its wide fit walking boots filter, in fittings of 2E-4E and 6E-8E.
• Cotswold Outdoor’s women’s boots: 9 is the top size of the Meindl Womens Baltimore GTX, and nothing labelled women’s reaches its filter at 10.
• JD Williams, Hotter and Pavers: their filters stop at 9, as shown in search results.
• Shoe Zone: it stops sooner, with 8 the largest size in its walking boots filter.
• Long Tall Sally: we found no walking boots on its UK site.

Filters that show men’s boots at 10

Three shops have a filter that looks like an answer and is not. Decathlon’s Ladies hiking boots list has a UK 10 option, and every item behind it was titled Mens: the Ravine, Jaguar Mid, Quadra II, Diamonde Low and Auckland Lite, all from outside sellers. Its own Quechua MH500 women’s boots stop at UK 8. Blacks’ filter shows 10 too, but the one item is a Magnum Classic 6 Lace work boot whose text says Magnum Men’s Classic, so it is neither women’s nor a walking boot. GO Outdoors is the cleanest no: its filter and store data show nothing above 9 across the women’s collection, and the Timberland Pro brand page that once pointed to a 10 now returns no products. An item labelled men’s never counts here, however a shop files it.

What we could not reach

Altberg’s All Year Round and Malham list 3 to 14 without saying ladies or unisex, as shown in search results. The All Year Round is made to order, so only Altberg can say whether a women’s boot is possible at 10, and we do not count it. Its ladies Fremington and Tethera stop at 8.5, and its Lady Sneeker Elite, a military-style boot, at 9. Mountain Warehouse’s Mcleod Womens Wide Fit runs to 9, and we found nothing at 10, but its listing had no size filter we could read, so that is not a firm no. We did not check Millets, Karrimor at Sports Direct, or Salomon’s or Hoka’s own sites, and we could not read Regatta’s sizes.

Measuring and width at size 10

We did not record a foot-length chart or a width for the Ayacucho boots, so measure, and go by the sizes shown on the product page. For a length to compare with, Long Tall Sally’s women’s chart gives 279 mm for a UK 10, and Dr. Martens’ 29 cm.

Not women's-labelled, as far as we could find. The only boots we found on a women's page at 10 are the unisex Ayacucho Cabrera Mid and Ordesa Mid at Cotswold Outdoor.

Does GO Outdoors have women's walking boots in size 10?

No. Its filter and store data across the women's collection showed no size above 9.

Why does Decathlon's women's list show size 10?

Its ladies hiking list has a UK 10 filter, but every item in it was titled Mens, so we do not count it.

Is there a 10.5?

Cotswold Outdoor's filter lists 10.5 on its women's page, with a few boots. We did not read which ones.
