Large Flats for Women: UK Size 8 to 13

Quick answer: at UK 8 and 9 we found 19 and 17 shops with flats, in ballet pumps, loafers and mules, and wide fits are easy to find. At 10 the list falls to seven: Long Tall Sally, Crispins Shoes, Otto and Ivy, After 8 Shoes, Yours, Evans and Next. Otto and Ivy and a few Crispins Shoes styles reach 12, as do Birkenstock mules at Marks and Spencer. At 13 it is a few Long Tall Sally pumps and loafers, on its own site and at Yours, Evans and Next.

This guide covers flats in the broad sense: ballet pumps, loafers and mules, with the Mary Janes and slip-ons that sit beside them at some shops. Large sizes thin out in three steps. Up to 9 the high street is with you, and Yours, Simply Be, JD Williams and DB Wider Fit Shoes add wide fittings. At 10 the list drops from 17 shops to seven, and E and EEE shrink to a few pumps and loafers. From 11 we could not confirm a wide flat at all, and much of what Yours, Evans and Next show is Long Tall Sally’s. We do not count clogs as flats, so Birkenstock’s Boston is left out, even where a shop’s list shows it.

We checked shops’ own websites on 30 and 31 October 2026. Marks and Spencer, Shoe Zone, DB Wider Fit Shoes, Crispins Shoes, After 8 Shoes and Otto and Ivy were read directly. Long Tall Sally at 12 and 13, Evans at 12 and 13, and Yours and Next at 13 were read in a browser, product by product, and Next refused further reads part way through. Very refused too, and its size filter had shown items not available in that size, so we have left it out at 10 and above. Yours, Evans, Next, Very, ASOS, Simply Be, JD Williams, Clarks, Hotter, Pavers and Dr. Martens rest in part on their own pages as shown in search results, and we say so on each size page. After 8 Shoes and Otto and Ivy label many shoes in EU sizes, so their UK sizes are often our reading. Delivery and returns terms were read on 30 October. We did not check prices, and availability changes daily.

The largest size is the biggest flat we could confirm at each shop, with a note where little was available. Two rows are weaker: ASOS’s 8 is inferred from its wide-fit flats category, as we could not read its size filter, and Clarks at 9 is a few women’s shoes that we could not separate into flats. Everything here sits on a shop’s women’s pages. Marks and Spencer’s Birkenstock mules are unisex-sized, and Dr. Martens’ list mixes women’s-labelled and unisex loafers. Half sizes for Next, Simply Be, JD Williams and Very come from their shoes filters, and Crispins Shoes’ from its boots and heels. LTS is short for Long Tall Sally. “Not checked” means we did not record that detail. Delivery and returns are the standard UK terms read on 30 October 2026, as shown in search results where marked.

Cosyfeet, Dr. Martens, Pavers and Very list flats up to 9, Clarks had a few women’s shoes at 9 that we could not separate into flats, Hotter lists flats at 8, and ASOS’s 8 is inferred from its wide-fit category, as our size 9 and size 8 flats guides show.

Shop by size

Each size guide compares the shops that list flats in that size, with named styles, widths, half sizes, and EU and US sizes from the shops’ own charts.

• Size 8: 19 shops, and the largest size at which we found Marks and Spencer’s own brand.
• Size 9: 17 shops, with many named EEE pumps, loafers and mules.
• Size 10: 7 shops, with a few pumps and loafers left in 10E and 10EEE.
• Size 11: the same 7 shops, but four main ranges, and no wide fit we could confirm.
• Size 12: 7 shops, a few styles at each, with Birkenstock mules at Marks and Spencer.
• Size 13: 4 shops, all showing a few Long Tall Sally pumps and loafers.

Ballet pumps

Ballet pumps reach 13. Long Tall Sally has them at that size in black leather, hammered black and brown, and black and navy faux suede. Otto and Ivy’s Molly reaches 46, which we read as UK 12, and After 8 Shoes’ Raven and Fenja 01 reach 45, which we read as UK 11. Below that the names multiply: Shoe Zone’s Lilley ballerinas and Marks and Spencer’s Monsoon pumps at 9, DB Wider Fit Shoes’ Foxtail canvas pump and Campbell dress ballerina, and, as shown in search results, Simply Be’s Cedar and Abundance bow styles in EEE. Marks and Spencer’s ballet flats stop at 9, and as shown in search results Yours’ black ballerina and square toe pumps stop at 10EEE, running low.

Loafers

Loafers reach 13 too, and they are more varied above 10 than pumps. Crispins Shoes has several at 10 and 11, with the BR Mirage, BR Wally, VM Glowy and ELA Beady among them, and a few such as the VM Rays and AM Prato at 12. Otto and Ivy’s Harriet and Penny reach 46, which we read as UK 12. Long Tall Sally has one faux suede tassel loafer at 12 and a few faux suede loafers at 13. On 30 October Next’s few at 12 came from brands including Dr. Martens and Jones Bootmaker, though we did not record which were loafers, and Dr. Martens’ size guide stops women’s sizes at 9, so any at 12 would be unisex sizing. Yours has loafers to 10E and Evans has snaffle and quilted styles at 10E, both as shown in search results. At 8 and 9 you also have Lilley and Softlites at Shoe Zone, and the Diana, Bingham and Magnolia at DB Wider Fit Shoes.

Mules

Mules are the thinnest of the three above 9. Simply Be’s Valetta, JD Williams’ Aziza suede mule and Yours’ embroidered faux suede mule are named at 9, as shown in search results, and Marks and Spencer lists Birkenstock Naples and Steve Madden Rafe mules. Above that we can name Long Tall Sally’s mule sandals at 11 and the Birkenstock Naples at 12. Marks and Spencer’s mule filter also has 9.5 and 10.5, mostly Birkenstock, and no whole 10 or 11. Crispins Shoes has a Mules collection we did not read size by size. We saw no mules at Otto and Ivy, and found no separate mules page at Long Tall Sally.

Buying flats in big sizes: what we learned

Many flats at 11 to 13 are one brand

Long Tall Sally, Yours and Evans share a catalogue, and Next lists Long Tall Sally’s shoes. At 11 and 12, Yours and Evans show Long Tall Sally only, and at 13 all four shops show some of the same few pumps and loafers. So seven shops at 11 are really four main ranges, plus a few other brands at Next. If you find a shoe you like, compare delivery and returns rather than hunting for another version of it.

Filters can overstate

Shoe Zone’s Flats filter runs to 13, but above 9 it holds one unisex Wallabee. Marks and Spencer’s flat-heel filter at 10 shows only trainers, boots, Crocs clogs and sandals. Long Tall Sally’s flats filter at 12 and 13 includes a low block heel velvet pump and a canvas trainer. Cosyfeet’s list at 9 is mostly touch-fastening and lace shoes rather than pumps or loafers, so read each title.

Wide feet

The widest fittings we found were DB Wider Fit Shoes’ 6E-8E and Cosyfeet’s about 6E, and we could not confirm either above 9. Cosyfeet’s UK filter reaches 10 in a small selection, but we did not read which styles. Simply Be and JD Williams list EEE to 9, and Yours and Evans go on to 10E, with Yours also at 10EEE. Above that, Long Tall Sally’s flats are Standard Fit. Next’s filter showed a Long Tall Sally Wide-Fit ballerina at 13 that we could not open, so check it on the product page.

Half sizes

After 8 Shoes lists 8.5 and 9.5 on many UK-labelled styles. Crispins Shoes has 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 on many boots and heels, but we did not read half sizes on its flats, so check each style. Marks and Spencer has 9.5 and 10.5 in its loafer and mule filters, mostly Birkenstock, and no half size on ballet flats above 6.5. Long Tall Sally, Yours and Evans list whole sizes only.

Go by foot length, not the EU number

A UK 10 is EU 43 at Long Tall Sally and Yours, and EU 44 at Next and Crispins Shoes. At 12 the labels run from EU 45 to EU 47. At 13 Next’s filter says EU 48, while the size lists on its Long Tall Sally pump and loafer say EU 46. We did not find a size table at After 8 Shoes, and Otto and Ivy’s site gives UK 12 as EU 46, approximately. Long Tall Sally’s chart gives foot lengths from 262 mm at 8 to 304 mm at 13.

Returns differ a lot

Cosyfeet gives 90 days for free UK returns, with some items excluded. Shoe Zone takes unworn shoes back for 12 months, free to a store or £2.50 by post. Simply Be and JD Williams give 28 free days through their own return options. Crispins Shoes gives 14 days at your cost, Otto and Ivy deducts £5, and Hotter deducts £2.95. Marks and Spencer’s returns are free, but orders under £10 or all-sale orders collected in store usually cannot be posted back.

At 11: Long Tall Sally, Otto and Ivy's Molly at EU 45, and After 8 Shoes' Raven and Fenja 01 at EUR 45, both of which we read as UK 11, with Yours, Evans and Next showing Long Tall Sally's. At 12: Long Tall Sally, and the Molly at EU 46, which we read as UK 12. After 8 Shoes' size links stop at 11.

Which shops list loafers above size 10?

Can I get wide fit flats above size 10?

We could not confirm one. Yours' and Evans' own wide flats stop at 10E or 10EEE, and Long Tall Sally's are Standard Fit. Next's filter showed one Long Tall Sally Wide-Fit ballerina at 13, which we could not open.

Are the flats at Yours and Evans in 11 to 13 the same as Long Tall Sally's?

Yes. Those shops share a catalogue, and above 10 Yours and Evans show Long Tall Sally's Standard Fit shoes. Next's list above 10 is mostly the same brand.

Do you count clogs as flats?

No. Birkenstock's Boston is a clog, so it is not in our flats counts. Birkenstock's Naples is a mule, and it counts at Marks and Spencer at 9 and 12.

Why are After 8 and Otto and Ivy sizes marked as our reading?

They label many shoes in EU sizes, and we read those as UK sizes. We did not find a size table at After 8, so use the sizing on its product pages. At Otto and Ivy, use its sizing on the product page too.
