At 11 the unisex range holds up well. Toolstation’s unisex page still has several brands, and the Amblers list we noted has not changed since 10. The catch is the same one: none of these is a women’s boot, and women’s pages will not lead you to them. Screwfix’s women’s list shows only wellies at this size, and Workwear Gurus has stopped. If you know Hard Yakka from size 9, its Atomic reappears here, on a unisex page.

The shops in more detail

Women’s filters at size 11

• Amblers Safety: Sophie, its women-only collection, has nothing above 9, so all it shows under Womens at 11 is unisex.
• Toolstation: its women’s safety footwear page says sizes 3 to 8, its Womens boots filter reached 9 with one boot, and its Womens size 10 address is a 404.
• Arco: the women’s styles we saw stop at 8 or so, and its ST960 Women’s, UK 3 to 8, is marked discontinued.
• Workwear Gurus: 9 is the largest size in its Womens Safety Boots filter.
• Screwfix: its women’s size 11 page showed nothing but non-safety wellies, the Cotswold Windsor Tall.
• Shoe Zone: only a unisex EarthWorks safety trainer can hold 11, and there is no boot.
• Dr. Martens and CAT: neither’s own UK shop has a safety-toe boot. Dr. Martens’ work range is slip-resistant, with a filter to 13.

What changes between 10 and 11

Very little at Amblers, where the unisex list we noted is the same. At Toolstation, the boots we noted at 11 include the Hard Yakka Atomic. That is the same Atomic that Screwfix labels women’s at 9, here on a unisex page. The Amblers FS430 and AS257 we noted at Toolstation at 10 were not among the boots we noted at 11, though we named only part of each list.

Which shop for which boot at 11

Toolstation is the place for the Stanley Cascade, Maverick Duke, Cofra Summit and Hard Yakka Atomic, none of which we noted at Amblers Safety. It also lists Amblers’ own AS335 Moorfoot and AS308c. Amblers Safety is the place for its dealer, hi-leg and wide fit boots. The AS241 is at both, so compare their terms before you order. For Arco’s unisex boots, its safety boots page has a Gender filter of Men’s, Unisex and Women’s, and the Size (UK) filter sits beside it. The FS006C in Amblers’ list is a waterproof boot, like the FS32.

Measuring and width at size 11

We did not record a foot length from these shops. For a length to compare with, Long Tall Sally’s women’s chart gives 288 mm for a UK 11, and Dr. Martens’ chart, which covers its unisex sizes, gives 30 cm. We did not record EU or US sizes for these boots.

Most boots at 11 are standard fit. Amblers’ AS803 Broad wide fit boot runs to 14, and Arco’s Foot Width filter offers Regular and Wide. Amblers has an 11.5 on one style only.
