This is the comfortable end of the range. Almost every shop we read has slippers at 8, in nearly every shape: mule, moccasin, ballerina, slipper boot, full-back and touch-and-close. The only real catch is sizing. Several shops use bands or letters rather than a plain UK number, so an 8 can mean a 7-8, and at Next’s own mules or Shoe Zone’s letter sizes it can mean a band we could not tie to a number. Marks and Spencer and Clarks stop here, so this is also the last stop for two familiar names.
We checked each shop’s own website on 31 October 2026. How bands work at 8
A band is one slipper listed for two sizes. Long Tall Sally, Yours and Evans use 7-8, and ASOS shows 7-8 alongside a plain 8, so an 8 and a 7 are the same pair there. The next band up is 9-10. Letter sizes are less clear. Marks and Spencer adds S, M and L, Shoe Zone S to XL, and Next’s own mules come in Small to X Large. We did not read which UK sizes most of those letters cover, so check the size guide on the product page.
Full-back, touch-and-close and moccasins at 8
Full-back and touch-and-close slippers sit mainly at the wider-fit shops. JD Williams lists both, DB has touch fastening styles in its range, and Pavers has a full slippers page with an adjustable fasten style.
